We stayed at Florida Gateway Resort for several day and were quite impressed with what the campground. The front desk staff was friendly, efficient, and made us feel at home.
Great National Forest campground, but not to be confused with the privately-owned Buckboard Campground and Marina located adjacent to the National Forest Campground.
That is very disappointing to me as I have been going here for 15 years and would love to continue going for a lot more.
The landscaping is another area in that could be improved upon. An overgrown baseball field, volleyball set in hard pack dirt rather than sand, and lack of interesting landscape show just how far away from a resort Pine Acres is.
I recommend that you pass this one by. Sunday 6/17/07 I submitted a reservation request online at their website. When I hadnt gotten a confirming email by Tuesday I called them
We rented a cabin at Cherrystone Camping Resort with A/C and a refrigerator. I wasnt prepared for how close together the cabins were. They were all no more than 15-20 yards apart and right on the road. Unfortunately we got a cabin on the corner of two roads and our picnic table and grill sat on the edge of the road. We moved it between the cabin next to us and ours.
